PerSay’s voice biometrics technology, VocalPassword, powers Bell’s Voice Identification Service in Canada. It uses a spoken pass phrase as identifier for all its service areas (including local and wireless phone, high-speed internet, and VoIP). This voluntary enrollment program serves as a cost-effective and secure alternative to PIN-based services and manual authentication. Bell uses voice biometrics because of their “ongoing commitment to protect privacy” of its customers. Currently, Bell reports it has more then 275,000 voluntary enrollments in the VocalPassword program.
