L-1 Identity Solutions Receives $1.3 Million Order from Turkish National Police for Live Scan Fingerprint Capture Devices

STAMFORD, Conn. — L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of identity solutions and services, announced today that the Turkish National Police selected the L-1 TouchPrint™ Enhanced Definition 4100 Slap and Roll Live Scan for its criminal booking and civilian enrollment applications. The L-1 devices were selected over a number of competitive systems and will be provided via L-1’s prime contractor Bimsa, the technology consulting division of Sabanci Holding.

The Turkish National Police will use the TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 4100 devices to upgrade live scan systems country-wide and aid in the speedy and accurate identification of criminals. In addition, slap and roll tenprint capture devices will be used to help comply with new legislation associated with the capture of fingerprints when citizens apply for a driver’s license or passport. Stationary and portable units will be located in police stations throughout Turkey. Future plans include deployment at border crossing points where illegal immigration is a huge problem.

The Turkish National Police bid requirements specified a live scan system that is capable of capturing high quality and standards compliant biometric data in both criminal and civil applications.
