Thursday, February 21, 2008

Fujitsu Computer Products will demonstrate its new PalmSecure™ PC Log-In Kit at the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference, Feb. 24-28 in Orlando, FL. The PC Log-In Kit is composed of the PalmSecure authentication sensor embedded into a PC mouse which captures an image of the user’s palm vein, and OmniPass™ Windows Log-in and Single Sign-On software which eliminates password entry for Windows sessions and password protected applications. PalmSecure generates a unique biometric template that is matched against pre-registered users’ palm vein patterns.

“Traditional fingerprint security is limited because of high false rejection rates due to authentication errors where authorized users are not recognized correctly,” said Joel Hagberg, vice president, marketing and business development, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. [end]
