L-1 Identity Solutions unveils TouchPrint 4800 Live Scan

Stamford, Conn.-based L-1 Identity Solutions announced availability of the TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 4800 Live Scan product. The FBI Appendix F certified live scan is the smallest, lightweight device for capturing complete ten print and palm images including fingerprint rolls, slaps, thumbs, palms and writers’ edges. The TouchPrint ED 4800 is the only live scan capable of multi-capture on a patent-pending single, field-replaceable platen. The device features L-1’s proprietary Moisture Discriminating Optics to ignore the effects of moisture blobs from sweaty prints and deliver higher quality images. [end] 

India’s Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), a government agency created to manage the country’s new UID system that will establish biometric profiles and related ID numbers for all the country’s citizens, has chosen three consortia made up of various biometric, security and technology companies to create, setup and run a system that will ensure the UID numbers are not duplicated, according to a Live Mint article.
