i-Fashion chooses Animetrics for virtual shopping

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

Identity Loop (www.identityloop.com) reports that i-Fashion Technology Center has chosen Animetrics GotFACE 2Dto3D technology for iFashion’s virtual shopping service. Animetrics GotFACE creates realistic 3D models of faces after a consumer either scans in or uploads a photograph or has one taken at an i-Fashion booth located at a retail store. iFashion then displays a 3D virtual image of shoppers’ body and face to see how clothing fits and looks on their virtual avatar.

The intent is that i-Fashion’s service will allow online and brick and mortar retailers to increase sales, lower product returns and speed up the selling process. The i-Fashion Technology Center is located at Konkuk University, Seoul Korea. [end]
