OTI upgrading African voter ID system
On Track Innovations (OTI), a provider of smart cards and other ID technologies, has signed on to help upgrade an African country’s voter registry with biometric ID cards. The project is an attempt to curb voter fraud attempts through double registry or other means.
As part of the $2 million contract, OTI will supply the registry with its Voter ID Registry Magna software, biometric voter ID cards, and mobile enrollment stations equipped with fingerprint scanners to assist with providing a system available both online and offline while remaining accurate and secure.
