Datastrip terminals now capable of iris scanning

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Devices from Datastrip, a developer of biometric technologies, now can be enabled to have iris scanning capabilities. By adding a scanner and supporting software to any of Datastrip’s handheld biometric terminals, they will be able to perform face recognition, fingerprint and iris scans of individuals.

As the need for a more effective means of verification that is harder to fool have risen with Datastrip’s customers, they are responding with this upgrade option in hopes that the cost-effective solution will both help them keep their existing customers as well as attract new ones. Now all of their devices are capable of the three most prevalent biometrics; fingerprint, iris and face. [end]
