Suprema announces new access control system

Suprema, a developer of biometric technology, has announced the release of their new software, called BioStar, which combines IP connectivity with biometric security technology to enable system integrators to create a flexible and comprehensive biometric access control system.

The new technology’s developers see BioStar as a perfect fit for new system installation as the removing of control panels and necessary wiring lowers the cost of implementation. Due to this, BioStar is being targeted at small to medium size companies. Future plans for BioStar include adding time and attendance functionality, site graphics and other integration capabilities such as with existing surveillance and alarm systems. [end] 

SmartMetric, a developer of portable biometric solutions, has announced that its biometric activated data card can now be used to contain full medical history and health records on the individual. The card, called the SmartMetric Data Card, is a standard sized card that has the capability of holding multiple pages of data as well as being inaccessible without the holder first scanning his fingerprint on the card itself.

Suprema, a developer of biometric systems, has announced the successful issuance of 1.2 million shares in their company totaling $36 million. With the new flow of money, Suprema has planned a number of research and development projects to add onto their product line of fingerprint-based biometric products and systems.

Suprema, a developer of biometric solutions, has announced that its RealScan-F palm print scanner has received certification from the FBI for the agency’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System Image Quality Specification Appendix F standards. The certification is a big help to the scanner as it is required if it is to be used by the FBI and many other government agencies.

RF IDeas has announced the release of its new pcProx Enroll reader for physical access control.

According to RF IDeas, the reader is compatible with more than 300 million physical access proximity cards, allowing employees to use their building access card for other forms of identification and security throughout the workplace.
