BIO-key and identiMetrics provide biometrics for schools

Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in News

Two biometric companies, BIO-key International and identiMetrics, have announced a new release of their fingerprint scanning technology that is used in schools for authenticating a student’s enrollment in the federal free and reduced lunch program. In addition to the authentication of students in line for food, the system, called identify, also manages record-keeping for timely reimbursement and does not store actual fingerprint information to keep students’ biometric data safe. [end]
