ImageWare announces new orders

ImageWare Systems Inc., a developer of identity management products, has received multiple new orders in late September and October totaling $525,000 from new and existing government and private sector customers. Revenue will be recognized upon delivery of each order, the majority of which are expected to be in the fourth quarter. Management intends to release third quarter results in mid-November. [end] 

Digital Identification Solutions announced it has received purchase orders from three separate driver license programs.

The first of the orders is from L-1 Identity Solutions for the State of Kentucky, and another is from 3M for the State of Arkansas. Furthermore, the State of South Carolina, a customer for several years, has also decided to extend its current install base.

ImageWare Systems, a developer of biometric technology, has announced that they are creating a project called the Open Biometrics Initiative (OBI) intending to push biometric technology development in the open source software development environment. The OBI project will take place by ImageWare operating a forum that will be available to anyone in the open source community.

Hirsch Electronics announced the award of $4 million in orders to supply U.S. Department of Justice agencies with Hirsch security systems. The majority of the revenue associated with the orders was recognized within the second quarter 2010. Notice of the awards was first made public by the General Services Administration pursuant to Federal disclosure regulations.

SmartMetric, a developer of portable biometric solutions, has announced that its biometric activated data card can now be used to contain full medical history and health records on the individual. The card, called the SmartMetric Data Card, is a standard sized card that has the capability of holding multiple pages of data as well as being inaccessible without the holder first scanning his fingerprint on the card itself.

ImageWare Systems, a developer of identification authentication solutions, has announced they have been awarded two patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for scalable, multimodal, biometric technologies. Specifically, the patents cover designs and methods for combining different biometric matching technologies to improve matching accuracy of existing technology.

Comtech Telecommunications announced that is has received orders totaling $47.4 million under its movement tracking system contract with the U.S. Army. The orders provide supply to support the Army’s move towards full adoption of the RFID ISO 18000-7 standard.
