Future biometric expansion expected in Asia and Middle East

Expanded adoption of biometrics for the commercial sector as well as multiple government uses, including border control and law enforcement, will see the growth of biometric programs in Asia and the Middle East, according to a Saudi Gazette article. The Intersec trade fair, scheduled for mid-January in Dubai, has expanded and participants should have increased opportunities for market penetration in the region.


Nearly all existing modes of biometrics will be on display at the Intersec trade show and planners are expecting representatives from numerous industries including government, health care, telecom, manufacturing and many others. The conference is expecting upwards of 20,000 participants and has booked speakers on the subjects of combating terrorism and organized crime.
