Retica demonstrates multi-modal system

Retica Systems, a developer of biometric technology, has announced that they will demonstrate the latest release from their Eagle-Eyes line of biometric devices at the 2009 Annual Biometrics and Forensics Summit in California. The new Eagle-Eyes device is called the GEN3 Eagle-Eyes 2.5-10m and is capable of both iris and facial capture from long distances.


In addition to the Eagle-Eyes device, Retica also offers an Eagle-Eyes software development kit that can be combined with their Rapid-Match matching algorithm software development kit and Mobile-Eyes dual iris capture software development kit for even higher performance out of the biometric system. The Eagle-Eyes system is capable of video surveillance, object detection and tracking, precision pointing and face and dual iris capture via its pan-tilt unit and zoom lens. [end] 

Aware has announced that it has supplied a large European police agency, on par with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S., with its Biometric Services Platform (BioSP). BioSP, a Web-based biometric application, will serve a number of purposes for the agency including screening and converting fingerprint records from agencies such as INTERPOL and the FBI into the domestic format and providing remote police facilities with quick searchable access to biometric records.

The Hybrid Biometric Platform is a client/server system that supports the use of fingerprints, finger veins, palm veins and iris recognition as a form of biometric authentication with the system designed so that customers are not locked into one biometric mode should they decide to change or add new modes in the future.
