BAE taps UK Biometrics for security solution

Global Defense group, BAE, has entered in talks with UK-based biometrics developer UK Biometrics, according to an NE Business article. If an agreement is met between the two companies it could open a number of business avenues for UK Biometrics as BAE serves as a medium to bring new defense and security products to market. The two companies first crossed paths at the recent CONNECT investment conference.


BAE, although potentially the most promising, was not the only investment opportunity UK Biometrics encountered at the CONNECT conference. They also have since entered into talks with providing solutions for the Cleveland Police and a number of other investors including five major investment houses.

DigitalPersona has announced the release of new biometric solution for digital access management, data protection and communication security.

The solution, called DigitalPersona Pro Enterprise, is capable of full disk encryption, two-factor virtual private network authentication utilizing biometrics and smart cards, fingerprint biometrics, is integrated with Microsoft Active Directory and can all be managed from a central system.
