PerSay releases new fraudster detection solution

PerSay, a developer of voice-based biometrics systems, has announced the completion of field testing for a new fraudster detection system designed for use by contact centers. The technology, which is based on the company’s FreeSpeechT Voice Biometrics platform, operates by utilizing recordings of known fraudsters and tipping off workers when they have encountered one on the phone. [end] 

DERMALOG, a Germany-based manufacturer of biometrics solutions, has presented a new solution at the CeBIT 2011 conference called DERMALOG FingerLogin.

FingerLogin is a standard computer keyboard with an integrated fingerprint scanner designed for use at work stations for fingerprint-basedlogical access control. The solution connects to a computer over a USB connection and has additional fraud detection capabilities such as its Live Finger Scanner which deters a fraudster from using any sort of artificial finger to fool the system.

University of North Carolina Hospitals are using RFID technology to eliminate medical errors and enhance patient safety in operating rooms, according Healthcare IT News.

UNC Hospitals are using the RF Assure Detection System from RF Surgical Systems, based out of Washington. The system uses RFID detection technology to account for surgical sponges and other materials to prevent items from being left behind inside a patient post-surgery.
