Interswitch and Precise team up for Match-on-Card solution

Interswitch, an electronic transaction and payment processing company, has teamed up with Precise Biometrics, a developer of biometric solutions, to deliver Match-on-Card technology to the African banking industry, according to a Vanguard Nigeria article. The partnership has already yielded one project which provides licenses for the product in 42 billion in Nigerian currency.


The partnership is significant to the banking sectors in Nigeria because the country has passed regulations requiring banks to do away with magnetic stripes for banking cards and instead adopting embedded chip cards.

The Match-on-Card technology from Precise enables banks to utilize biometrics for customer authentication at ATMs without having to store any biometric information.

Gemalto announced that InterSwitch is deploying its complete Ezio strong authentication solution to secure their e-payment services in Nigeria.

InterSwitch is a provider of secure electronic payment solutions in Nigeria and comprises 25 member banks. Gemalto supplied its Ezio Strong Authentication Server and acted as server integration partner. The company also delivers EMV card readers and unconnected tokens, all with InterSwitch’s visual corporate identity.

Precise Biometrics, a biometrics solutions developer, has received an order for $226,000 for their Match-On-Card products and services for government employees in the Middle East. The order is in addition to previous order from the same customer and involves both an additional 200 Precise Match-On Card readers and additional licenses for software.

Sweden’s Precise Biometrics announced a new solution for Windows 7 logon. Precise BioMatch Logon enables user access to Windows 7 machines via their fingerprint. It also enables the user to personalize access to different files or applications. BioMatch Logon is part of a suite of fingerprint software solutions for the Windows 7 operating system and works with most fingerprint sensors compatible with the Windows Biometric Framework.

The new solution utilizes gesture biometrics via a user’s mouse and is envisioned to provide distance-learning students a more effective and secure means of accessing personal student files, discussion groups and other private areas of school networks.
