ImageWare, Vista LifeSciences partner on biometrics for health care

ImageWare Systems Inc. and Vista LifeSciences announced the formation of a partnership to offer clients secure biometric identification for electronic medical records.

Vista LifeSciences’ products are used by the U.S. Department of Defense. Vista LifeSciences is the provider of automated neurocognitive assessment technology to the United States Department of Defense that has been used to create more than 400,000 neurocognitive assessments.


The partnership will initially focus on integrating ImageWare’s biometric solution into Vista LifeSciences’ STAT Medical Jacket, the electronic medical record used to hold all of a patient’s medical history in a Web-based or mobile environment. The integration of ImageWare’s biometric solution should provide added security for authorized medical professionals accessing patient records and ensure that patient medical records correspond to the correct patient.

The addition of biometrics aims to increase the efficiency and security of electronic medical records in a hospital, clinical and emergency environments and bring professional medical record management to medical triage environments. [end] 

Envoy Data Corporation announced a partnership with biometrics developer Zvetco Biometrics that will see Envoy offering Zvetco’s fingerprint scanners to its clients.

The biometric readers now carried by Envoy have been designed with both convenience and performance in mind for use in the enterprise, financial, health care, gaming and retail industries. The new partnership means an expanded product list and more options for Envoy’s clients and an expanded customer-base for Zvetco.
