Biometric Signature ID’s CEO, Jeff Maynard, will be a featured speaker at the 2010 eLearning conference in Ft. Worth, Texas. Maynard will speak on Feb. 22 and cover biometric signatures for student ID identity authentication, as well as the results from a pilot with University of Maryland University College.

Maynard will share the results from UMUC’s pilot and reveal why 93% of students rated the system as extremely or very convenient and 97% would recommend BioSig-ID to be used for student identity verification.

Using Biometric Signature ID’s software only solution, authentication enrollment is performed using the dynamic biometric, BioSig-ID Online, to capture the way the student draws their signature with their mouse.

The signature can be any series of shapes, characters, or initials – all of which are used to build a profile.

For additional security students use a second layer of identity proofing - Click-ID Online, an image pattern recognition technology. A third layer of security called complex security questions is available if an individual with disabilities needs this due to enrollment difficulties.

Biometric Signature ID announces results of software study

Biometric Signature ID (BSI) announced positive results from a study of their software-only approach to biometric authentication for students using PCs. The new solution utilizes gesture biometrics via a user’s mouse and is envisioned to provide distance-learning students a more effective and secure means of accessing personal student files, discussion groups and other private areas of school networks.
