AOptix and Aware partner for DOD solution

Thursday, April 8, 2010

AOptix Technologies, a developer of biometric solutions, has announced that they in a partnership with fellow biometrics developer Aware have completed the integration of an AOptix iris system with Aware software.

The final product, which utilizes AOptix’s InSight iris recognition system and Aware’s Universal Registration Client application and Biometric Services Platform software, is to be used by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) with its Automated Biometric Identity System (ABIS).

The integration had to be fitted with the DOD’s ABIS in mind as it entails its own standard. The final product from Aware and AOptix is in its final qualification testing by the DoD Biometrics Task Force. [end]
