AuthenWare announces updates to security suite

AuthenWare has announced an update to its flagship security software offering called AuthenWare 2.0. The AuthenWare security software utilizes unique typing rhythms in conjunction with behavioral and environmental characteristics and a username and password. In addition to being a software solution deployable on individual computers, AuthenWare is touted as having the ability to exist as a Web-based solution.


Among the updates that the company has announced with the new version include the AuthenWare Singularity Pattern, which is responsible for authenticating a user’s typing pattern, a new authentication process manager, a Java-based Web login application called Web Replay Attack Prevention, adjustable authentication levels and certification from the International Biometric Group. Additionally, AuthenWare has expanded mobile support with new support for the Safari browser on iPhone and the BlackBerry Borwser. [end] 

DigitalPersona announced the release of a new version of its Pro Enterprise software solution, version 5.2.

Among the aspects of the new version DigitalPersona is touting are the extensive number of factors a company utilizing the solution can use to authenticate for access to sensitive information or secured computer stations. These factors include what a user knows, such as PINs or passwords, things you have, such as smart cards, contactless identity cards or Bluetooth devices, and things you are, such as fingerprints.

Codebench Inc. and S2 Security Corp. announced that Codebench’s PIVCheck Plus software suite, a card validation, authentication, and registration solution for HSPD-12 compliance, now integrates with the S2 NetBox Extreme and Enterprise systems from S2 Security Corporation.

AuthenWare has announced a reseller agreement with 2Keys Security Solutions, an information technology security company, allowing 2Keys to resell AuthenWare’s behavioral biometrics software.

The software from AuthenWare is their keystroke authentication software which determines a user’s identity based off the unique patterns he types with.

The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is looking for proposals for research projects that could yield new biometric systems that authenticate users based on their own unique movements or behaviors such as the way they type or move a mouse, according to a ZDNet article.
