Hawk Systems releases biometric car starter

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Hawk Systems, a developer of fingerprint authentication technology, has announced a new offering that would require a fingerprint to start a car called SECUREPASSTM System Vehicle Identification System.

The hope of Hawk Systems is that this new biometric solution will help with preventing car thefts by only enabling authorized users to turn over the engine.

A deal has already been struck with auto shop 45th Street Auto Sales, West Palm Beach, Fla., to both provide the systems as well as install them into purchasers’ cars. The system can store up to 16 users’ biometric profiles. [end]

USA Supreme Technology announced a new biometric security device for cars in the U.S. The Biometric Car Starter is a fingerprint-based solution that renders a car inoperable until an authorized user swipes their fingerprint. USA Supreme is confident their product is vital to car security as it focuses on prevention of theft rather than tracking a car after theft or alerting people about the theft.
