Aware platform deployed to European police agency

Aware has announced that it has supplied a large European police agency, on par with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S., with its Biometric Services Platform (BioSP). BioSP, a Web-based biometric application, will serve a number of purposes for the agency including screening and converting fingerprint records from agencies such as INTERPOL and the FBI into the domestic format and providing remote police facilities with quick searchable access to biometric records.


Some other aspects of the software that Aware touts is the capabilities of BioSP to print PDF documents of retrieved fingerprints for printing in a layout familiar to the agency using it as well as offering a programmable workflow engine. Additionally, BioSP is integrated with various third party solutions allowing for the software to be utilized in a multi-modal situation. [end] 

The Richardson Police Department in Texas has deployed an RFID asset management system powered by GlobeRanger’s GR AWARE application.

The RPD solution runs on GlobeRanger’s iMotion platform which enables data capture from current and the next generation of devices. This allows the department to electronically scan and catalog inventory, and obtain real-time visibility on critical assets ranging from weapons and uniforms to radars and cell phones.

Human Recognition Systems (HRS) has added features and enhancements to its MForce latent fingerprint processing product.

In an effort to reduce operation times and costs, HRS has developed MForce as a mobile biometric product that enables law enforcement officers and military to obtain and process latent and livescan fingerprints in the field. By processing prints onsite, users are able to quickly provide investigators with intelligence.

Just as the University of Georgia police were ending an investigation into a sophisticated fake ID ring, another student dealing in fake driver licenses came to light. The original ring, apparently run by students at the University of Georgia and Gainesville State College, had distributed more than 1,000 fake IDs to students at the two schools.
