Axway, a business interaction networks company that manages digital business interactions, has partnered with MaxID, a developer of biometric and other identity solutions, to create a new handheld mobile device designed for use in biometric authentication.
The two companies are hopeful the new solution will used for national security issues as it is aimed at complying with both Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 and he Transportation Worker Identification Credential card, which under each carry requirements of biometric-based identity cards for those working as or with federal employees or working at ports of entry respectively.
The joint solution from the two companies came about by utilizing MaxID’s iDL500 handheld mobile computer that is capable of scanning and enrolling biometrics with software from Axway called Validation Authority Suite to perform the authentication and card reading.
The Axway software is nothing new to the U.S. Department of Defense, who has a hand in many of the services requiring biometric authentication in the U.S. government, as all four of its services have deployed Axway solutions. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/thirdfactor-4.gif)
