AOptix announces new design for iris system

Monday, August 16, 2010

AOptix Technologies has announced the redesign of its InSight VM series of iris recognition systems. The redesign moved all the internal components of the system to align vertically leading to a slimmer version of the original system.

The new design still uses the company’s Adaptive Optics iris technology and is not expected to change any of the features of the system, such as authentication from up to two meters away from the device and a two second authentication time. [end]

AOptix Technologies has integrated its iris recognition system into 34 automated e-Gates at the Gatwick Airport South Terminal.

The decision to bring in AOptix and its iris systems, called InSight VM, was identity management technology developer and integrator Human recognition Systems (HRS), who had developed and implemented the gates already in place at the airport running on their MFlow Track solution.
