Imation to showcase items from Defender line

Imation, a global technology developer that specializes in data storage, will be showcasing various offerings from its Defender line of removable storage products at the 2011 RSA Conference. Among the new offerings that Imation is to demonstrate at the conference are the new 64 gigabyte capacity versions of its F100, F150 and F200 +Biometric Flash Drives.


The highest level of those biometric-secured flash drives, the F200, is designed to meet international standards for data encryption and includes two-factor authentication with password and fingerprint authentication required for access to the drive’s contents.

In addition to its data security features, the F200 touts a rugged design which is tamper resistant, crush resistant, waterproof and dustproof. [end] 

Imation, a developer of computer technology and accessories, has released a new flash drive with a built-in fingerprint reader, according to a Computerworld article.

While the new drive, called the Defender F2000 Biometric Flash drive, is not nearly the first biometrically secured flash drive available to consumers, but it is the first to achieve Level 3 FIPS 140-2 validation.
