atsec meets Biometrics LAP accreditation requirements

atsec information security, a laboratory for testing information assurance and commercial information technology, has announced it has met the requirements for being accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for its Biometrics Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP).

The accreditation process includes technical interface standards conformance testing and scenario testing for a human lab-based crew.


Being accredited in Biometrics LAP will enable atsec to test biometric technologies for meeting national and international standards ensuring interoperability and assuring end-users of the products quality. [end] 

Vision-Box, a biometrics solutions provider, has come out with an automatic border control e-gate that supports multimodal biometric authentication.

This new e-gate is a thin system that contains vb i-match, a single sourced design that is modular and flexible and can be adapted to business requirements and infrastructure constraints that would otherwise disrupt passenger flow. It has the ability to cope with industry standards such as ICAO. The e-gate supports iris, fingerprint and facial biometrics.
