MorphoTrak named Cisco Ecosystem provider

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Cisco named MorphoTrak as an Ecosystem Provider, enabling MorphoTrak’s MorphoAccess biometric readers to be integrated with Cisco’s popular IP-based access control solution.

The Cisco solution is scalable from one to thousands of points by connecting MorphoAccess input/output modules to the gateway through a controller area network bus without the need for additional Ethernet ports. In addition, the use of Cisco and MorphoTrak power-over-ethernet capabilities eliminates the cost of installing additional power supplies at each reader location.

MorphoTrak’s hardware and software have passed testing by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for inclusion on the GSA FIPS 201 Approved Products List, as well as TSA testing for inclusion on the TWIC Initial Capabilities Evaluation List.

From the rugged outdoor OMA520 for harsh conditions to compact J-Series reader, MorphoTrak’s MorphoAccess range of biometric access control devices provide a robust, versatile front-end smart reader. [end]

Multimodal biometric security provider ImageWare Systems Inc. has released version 2.0 of its Biometric Engine (BE) physical security identification product.

This product is designed for airports, seaports and other critical points-of-access for government and private enterprises. This update takes into account the SAFE Port Act, which requires foreign shippers to secure cargo being shipped to the U.S. and ensure the identity of those loading it. Shippers must manage this by 2013.
