Monday, February 21, 2011

Lumidigm has announced a partnership with Imprivata, a developer of single sign-on and access management solutions aimed at the health care industry, to create a new solution for hospitals.

The new solution is intended to enable single sign-on access to electronic medical records for medical professionals via fingerprint authentication even if they are wearing surgical gloves.

The new integrated system will utilize both Imprivata’s OneSign enterprise single sign-on and authentication platform along with Lumidigm’s multispectral fingerprint sensor which scan sub surface of the fingerprint allowing for authentication of excessively dry or damaged prints as well as surgical gloved hands. [end]
