Monday, June 13, 2011

BIO-key International has deployed its fingerprint recognition software to Tennessee Healthcare Systems as part of an upgraded logical access control system that would increase the convenience of access to critical systems at the hospital while also increasing security.

Among the reasons the Tennessee Healthcare Systems decided to use BIO-key’s solution over competitors’ was due to its scalability and interoperability that would allow for easier expansion and upgrades to the system in the future.

In addition to software form BIO-key, the hospital is also bringing in Microsoft’s Sentillion Vergence Sign On software that would pair with BIO-key’s biometric solution to enable for single sign on across the hospital’s systems.

Officials from both BIO-key and Tennessee Healthcare Systems are elated to be moving forward with the project as it means an improvement in performance for the hospital. [end]
