MorphoTrust appoints new CEO

MorphoTrust USA, the security and credentialing division of Safran, has announced the appointment of Robert Eckel to the position of chief executive officer of the MorphoTrust division.

Eckel became part of Safran when it acquired biometrics developer L-1 Identity Solutions, where he served as president of the Secure Credentialing division. In July 2011 L-1 merged with its Morpho brand to become MorphoTrust. Eckel also has past experiences running another biometrics developer, Digimarc. [end] 

The NFC Forum has appointed TÜV SÜD Product Service to provide its Radio Frequency (RF) Analogue Test Tool Validation Service.

TÜV SÜD, a global provider of product testing and certification, will validate all RF Analogue test tools used as part of the NFC Forum Certification Program for testing the RF Layer of the communications stack to prove conformance to the NFC Forum specifications.

A new Morpho company under the Safran group has been launched called MorphoTrust USA.

The new company, which was formed after the acquisition of three divisions and the headquarters of former biometrics developer L-1 Identity Solutions, will serve as an identity solutions provider dedicated to the U.S. market only.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has opted to consolidate its multiple enrollment and registration programs into one Universal Enrollment Service. It has granted MorphoTrust USA a five-year, $248 million contract for the enrollment services.
