BIO-key developing biometric solution for iPad, iPhone

BIO-key International has announced its plans to present a new biometric solution designed for use with the Apple iPad and iPhone at the Allscripts Client Experience event, an event for health care companies, in Nashville, Tenn. in August.

The new solution, called iOS Fingerprint Mobile Identification Device (iFMID), is designed as a potential solution for enabling caregivers to access to biometrically secured electronic health records. The device itself was originally developed by biometric security hardware developer S.I.C. Biometrics, however, BIO-key had earlier this month released its plans for acquisition of the company. [end] 

DeviceFidelity has unveiled the latest addition to its lineup of NFC-enabled protective cases for the iPhone, the In2Pay iCaisse4X NFC.

When equipped with Device Fidelity’s In2Pay microSD, the iCaisse4X enables iPhone users to fully utilize NFC features such as card emulation, NFC tag reading and writing, mobile payments and peer-to-peer data exchange while offering an extended battery that provides several more hours of use.
