BIO-key to demo new mobile app solutions

BIO-key International will showcase its new fingerprint-based security apps developed for the iPad and iPhone and the Android-based tablets and phones at the Biometric Consortium Conference & Technology Expo at the Tampa Convention Center September 27 - 29.

Chief among the new solutions is the company’s Fingerprint Mobile Identification Device product suite developed for use by Apples iOS and designed specifically for use in defense, homeland security, identity management, border control and electronic commerce applications. Additionally, BIO-key will be showing off its new fingerprint matching software that they tout as interoperable with nearly all available fingerprint readers on the market. [end] 

Mobile and network security provider AuthenTec has released the AuthenTec AE2750, a fingerprint sensor designed for use in mobile commerce applications.

The AE2750 contains many features found in smart sensor designs, such as a 192 pixel by 8 pixel fingerprint sensor array. It also offers hybrid fingerprint matching on a sensor match and host match, AES, RSA and SHA encryption block and One Time Password generation. The device can mount on smart phones, tablest and touchscreen-enabled mobile devices.

Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE has partnered with Turkcell, Turkey’s largest mobile operator, to offer a new SIM-based NFC mobile device for the Turkish market.

The Turkcell T11 handset (aka the ZTE Racer II) can be used to pay for both highway toll payments and items at the point of sale with a simple tap against a contactless reader.
