DigitalPersona showcases fingerprint civil ID solutions

DigitalPersona has announced it will demonstrate its fingerprint solutions designed specifically for Civil ID program applications at the Biometrics Consortium Conference in Tampa, Fla. September 27 through 29.

Specifically, the company is planning to showcase their U.are.U line of fingerprint readers as well as not yet released mobile identity solutions. Among the aspects of the U.are.U readers DigitalPersona is touting include a sleek interface and design, high-end technical support and quick and easy integration into existing systems. [end] 

DigitalPersona Inc. released a new version of its DigitalPersona Pro Enterprise software that includes facial recognition as a method for authentication.

Facial recognition can now be combined with fingerprint biometrics, passwords, PINs, proximity cards, smart cards and OATH tokens for a multi-factor authentication solution. Policy creation and enforcement works through a client’s existing Active Directory infrastructure.

DigitalPersona announced that its U.are.U 5100 series of fingerprint readers and modules has received Personal Identity Verification (PIV) certification and is now listed on the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) Certified Products List.

Hooters Restaurants has implemented biometric fingerprint readers as a means to prevent loss in transaction and payroll fraud at the restaurant level.

Hooters contracted with DigitalPersona Inc. to install the provider’s U.are.U fingerprint readers with ITWercs Point-of-Sale software in restaurant units. Hooters employees use the readers to authenticate transactions and clock in and out for shifts.
