VoiceTrust acquires Perceive Solutions

VoiceTrust announced it has acquired Montreal-based voice technology developer Perceive Solutions. The acquisition means VoiceTrust is able to extend its product portfolio to include Perceive’s free-form speech products as well as gain a significant foothold in the Canadian market.

Executives from both companies say the merger will enable more future developments in product offerings for VoiceTrust while bringing Perceive’s products into new markets. [end] 

The British government has advised that schools will not be able to use students’ biometric data unless parents consent, reports politics.co.uk.

The government’s advice, released on Tuesday for consultation, was updated to include items from the newly enacted Freedoms Act 2012. This new advice will take effect in September 2013.

Google has acquired payments technology company TxVia, Google Wallet chief Osama Bedier announced on the company’s blog.

According to Bedier, the acquisition will improve Google Wallet’s payments capabilities and help to “accelerate innovation towards our full Google Wallet vision.”
