SutiSoft introduces multiple options for eSignature solution

California-based hosted and enterprise solution provider SutiSoft has announced new and different signing options for SutiSign, its electronic signature product that enables electronic signing of documents.

Users can opt for a system generated signature that automatically populates based on a user’s name. This can be used as a representation of the signature. Users may generate images of their actual signature, which can then be used within a document. 

MorphoTrust USA launched as U.S.-dedicated company

A new Morpho company under the Safran group has been launched called MorphoTrust USA.

The new company, which was formed after the acquisition of three divisions and the headquarters of former biometrics developer L-1 Identity Solutions, will serve as an identity solutions provider dedicated to the U.S. market only. 

DigitalPersona's Pro Enterprise enables "mix and match" authentication

DigitalPersona released a new version of its Pro Enterprise authentication device. It now contains the ability to support a number of new authentication credentials, enabling organizations to mix and match the ways in which employees securely identify themselves to Microsoft Windows and other applications.

Pro Enterprise can work with PINs, passwords, smart cards, biometrics, contactless proximity cards and Bluetooth phones. 

Hitachi partners with Isbank for largest network of biometric ATMs

Hitachi partnered with Turkey-based banking company Isbank to bring biometric identification authentication to roughly 3,400 ATMs in Europe.

While the new network of biometric ATMs, which utilize Hitachi’s finger vein scanning technology, is the largest in Europe, it is far from the largest worldwide where Japan has embraced the technology and installed more than 75,000 finger vein-based ATMs. 

Survey: French want fingerprint payments

A recent survey conducted by Wincor Nixdorf shows that a strong majority of French consumers are interested in using fingerprint scanning technology to secure transactions.

Out of 1,008 French consumers surveyed, a healthy 69% said they were in favor of scanning their fingerprint at the point of sale to secure electronic payments rather than punch in a PIN code. 

Lumidigm names new CEO

The board of directors for Lumidigm announced the appointment of Mark Shermetaro, a member of the board, to chief executive officer of the company with current CEO and chairman Bob Harbour moving to the position of executive chairman of the board of directors.

Among Shermetaro’s previous experience that he bring to the position beyond his two years on the board at Lumidigm is serving as vice president of business development at Methode Electronics. [end] 

LAWA places order from ImageWare

ImageWare Systems announced that the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), an agency that oversees Los Angeles International (LAX) airport, LA/Ontario International airport and Van Nuys airport, has placed an order for a number of biometric identity management and credentialing solutions.

Among the solutions LAWA is intending to implement at their airport locations are ImageWare’s Quick capture, which is a multi-biometric solutions and various parts of their Identity Service Bus suite, which will be used for identity management and credential issuance.
